SPECIAL RULES EFFECTS

  1. Broken Time-Space effect – Each Player may evolve a Pokémon that he or she just played or evolved during that turn
  2. Lost Zone Clause – If a card were to go to the discard pile, it goes to the lost zone after resolving effects instead.
  3. Energy Clause - instead of the usual rule of attaching an Energy card from your hand to one of your Pokémon once per turn, this professor cup allows you to "Attach up to one basic Energy card and one special energy card from your hand to one of your Pokémon (once per turn)." However, you cannot attach 2 basic energies card or 2 special energies card once per turn.
  4. Ban list
    a) Pokémon with attack “Lost March” in its name cannot be played
    b) Ability “Queen’s Call” cannot be used (The card can be played).
    c) Lt. Surge's Strategy (UNB-178, HIF-60) cannot be be played.
  5. Time Clause – 40 minutes per swiss rounds + 3 turns

 

 

Entry Requirements (at the point where professor cup will commence)

 Professors from the Asia Region:

         An Active Basic, Stage 1 or Stage 2 Professor (Organizer, VG or TCG Judge) in good standing

         Earned at least 20 Professor points in the Play! Pokémon Account.

         An activity under “My Current Activities” that is dated not more than 3 months old from date of Professor Cup.

 Professors from other regions:

         A Stage 1 or Stage 2 Rank Professor (Organizer, VG or TCG Judge) in good standing

2nd place: Finalist trophy; Professor Program messenger bag
3rd & 4th place: Semifinalist trophy; Professor Program messenger bag

The professor Seminar will commence from 3 pm to 6.30 pm at Jasmin Ballroom. All active professors are encouraged to join the seminar to understand more about Pokémon Organized Play Programme and how being an active Pokémon Professor can benefit you! Entry is free!

We will be engaging the participants of the Professor Seminar in interactive group activities in order to encourage our fellow participants to problem-solving, thinking and sharing experiences.

 

Summary of topics as follows:
1. Introduction to Organized Play and Tournament Organizing
2. Pokémon Judging (Shared Component)
3. Pokémon VG Specialization Judging
4. Pokémon TCG Specialization Judging

We will reveal more in-depth information as we are currently planning on the syllabus.


It is possible to participate in Professor Cup/Seminar as a professor
and Pokémon Regional Championships as a player!!

PLEASE NOTE: PLAYERS WHO DID NOT COMPLETE THE CHECK-IN PROCESS WILL HAVE THEIR NAMES REMOVED FROM PLAYER ROSTER.

FAQ


Q: What does the RM80 Pokémon Regionals entry differ from the usual Comic Fiesta RM60 entry?
A: The RM80 will include early-entry pass as well as entry pass to Pokémon Regional Championships. Normal RM60 Ticket holders will not be eligible to participate as they would miss the check-ins.

 

 Q: How much does it cost to enter side events like TCG League Cup or VG Midseason Showdown?
A: Entry is free for all players who purchased the entry to Comic Fiesta on Day 2!

 

Q: Can I enter the main event and side event of a different game? Like the main event for TCG and side event for VG and vice versa.
A: Yes you can! If you feel like switching game for your side event, so long your schedule (below) didn't clash, you are free to participate in any games with your player's badge!

 

Q: What is the entry fee if I only wish/can to participate in Day 2 events?
A: One-day entry fee to Comic Fiesta will cost 30RM for day 2 activities. There will be no additional cost.

 

Q: I have pre-registered online. How do I make my payment of 80RM?
A: Payment will be onsite, cash only. We will check with our records against your player ID for pre-registration in order to determine if you qualify for the preferential rates.

Q: There is a mistake in my registration entry. What should I do?
A: You can simply log in back to the google form that you signed in, and edit your entries there.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT - Video Game

 Players will battle each other using the standard Play! Pokémon format – Double battles

The 2019 Ultra Series World Championships Rules will be used. Players will battle using the game's "Live Competition" feature. However, players should still download the “2019 Ultra Series World Championships Rules” from the Festival Plaza prior to attending the event.

 

[ Format: Age Modified Swiss ]

In this format, Players will have to play a number of Swiss rounds(Best of 1 or Best of 3) appropriate for the number of players in attendance. Players are paired against other players with the same, or similar, match record.

Depending on the age group of participants for this Tournament, the Tournament Organizer may separate the players into groups according to the Pokémon

Organized Play's Age Division.

 

The age divisions for the 2020 season are as follows:

 o Junior Division: Born in 2009 or later
o Senior Division: Born in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008
o Masters Division: Born in 2004 or earlier

Maxsoft Pte Ltd and Pokémon Organized Play reserves the right to publish tournament information including but not limited to the items listed above, transcripts, audio and/or video recordings or other recounts, player penalties, awards, or any other resultant information from the tournament.

UNRULY BEHAVIOR

Players are expected to behave in a respectful manner to all attendees and staff of a Pokémon TCG event. Players who don’t behave properly will be reminded to with the issuance of a penalty. Examples of Unruly Behaviour includes, Shouting and behaving in physically threatening manner, failure to comply with the instructions of the event staff, attempting to manipulate a match through intimidation or distraction.
